Anushakti HR-FR-LSH is the grade searched for as HR FR LSH wire, HRFR LSH wire or low smoke heat resistant wire. It combines the two upgrades in one insulation: heat resistance for circuits that run warm, and a low-smoke, low-halogen compound for buildings where smoke would block an escape route. It is the flagship PVC-based house wire in the APAR range.

Description

Overview

Anushakti HR-FR-LSH is the flagship PVC based house wire in the range, searched for as HR FR LSH wire or HRFR LSH. It puts both upgrades into one insulation: e-beam cross linked heat resistance for circuits that run warm, and a low smoke, low halogen compound for buildings where smoke would block a way out. Single core, 1100 V, 0.75 to 6 sq mm, in Class 2 and Class 5.

This is the grade to specify when you would rather not mix grades room by room. A high rise flat has both problems at once: kitchen and air conditioner circuits that stay warm, and a single enclosed staircase that everyone on the floor has to use. Hospitals, schools and offices are the same. It is made to IS 694:2010, and the published fire test values sit in the table further down this page.

Why this wire

Key benefits
Low smoke Escape routes stay visible in a fire.
Low halogen Far less corrosive gas released.
Heat resistant 105°C continuous conductor rating.
E-beam cross-linked Tougher, longer-lasting insulation.
Higher current More load from the same size.
Anti-termite Protected against rodents and termites.

Standards & approvals

Compliance

Manufactured and tested to IS 694:2010, the Indian Standard for PVC-insulated cables for working voltages up to and including 1100 V. Every drum is ISI-marked and BIS-certified.

Flame-retardant, low-smoke, low-halogen grade as defined in IS 694:2010, with e-beam cross-linked insulation tested beyond the standard's minimum requirements.

The BIS licence number is printed along the wire, so an electrician or buyer can verify a genuine product at the point of sale.

FAQs

Good to know

What does HR FR LSH mean?+

HR FR LSH stands for Heat-Resistant, Flame-Retardant, Low Smoke and Halogen. It resists flame spread, emits very low smoke and no toxic halogen gases in a fire, and withstands high operating temperatures without insulation failure.

How is it different from ordinary house wire?+

It is made with Electron Beam (E-beam) technology, which cross-links the insulation for up to 50% more current-carrying capacity, heat resistance to 105°C, and melt/short-circuit resistance — well beyond conventional PVC wires.

Where is it best used?+

Ideal for residential and commercial buildings, distribution boards, appliance and control-panel wiring, and fire-sensitive environments such as hospitals and institutions.

What is the service life?+

Its E-beam cross-linked insulation gives a service life of over 50 years under normal operating conditions.

What is HR FR LSH wire?+

A house wire whose PVC insulation is heat resistant (HR), flame retardant (FR) and low smoke and halogen (LSH). You get the higher temperature rating of HR-FR plus the low-smoke behaviour of FR-LSH in a single wire.

Is HR-FR-LSH the same as ZHFR or HFFR?+

No. HR-FR-LSH is a low-halogen PVC compound. ZHFR, HFFR and LSZH are halogen-free compounds that are not PVC at all. If you need halogen-free, look at the Anushakti Fire Protekt (EBXL HFFR) page. If you need heat resistance and low smoke at a PVC price point, HR-FR-LSH is the grade.

Which rooms or circuits should use HR-FR-LSH?+

Kitchens, geyser and AC circuits in apartments, any run through a common stairwell or corridor, and whole-house wiring where the owner wants one grade everywhere rather than mixing FR and FRLS. Size it with the calculator on this site.
