APAR Anushakti HR FR PVC
Anushakti HR-FR-PVC is the grade searched for as HRFR wire, HR FR wire or heat resistant wire for house wiring. HR means heat resistant: the PVC compound keeps its properties at a higher conductor temperature than standard FR PVC, which matters on circuits that run warm for long periods, such as geysers, air conditioners, kitchens and closed conduits in hot climates. It is also flame retardant.
Description
OverviewAnushakti HR-FR-PVC is the heat resistant grade, written on most price lists as HRFR wire. The insulation is an e-beam cross linked HR FR PVC compound, so it holds its properties at a higher conductor temperature than ordinary FR PVC and it chars rather than melting when a circuit is pushed. Single core, 1100 V, 0.5 to 16 sq mm, to IS 694:2010.
Heat is the quiet killer of house wiring. A geyser, an air conditioner or an induction hob draws close to its full rating for hours at a stretch, and in a closed conduit through a Chennai or Nagpur summer the conductor never really cools down. That is the circuit this grade is for. The compound is termite resistant too, which matters in older buildings and in ground floor conduits. Where low smoke is needed as well, the HR-FR-LSH grade combines both.

Standards & approvals
ComplianceManufactured and tested to IS 694:2010, the Indian Standard for PVC-insulated cables for working voltages up to and including 1100 V. Every drum is ISI-marked and BIS-certified.
Flame-retardant, heat-resistant grade as defined in IS 694:2010, with e-beam cross-linked insulation tested beyond the standard's minimum requirements.
The BIS licence number is printed along the wire, so an electrician or buyer can verify a genuine product at the point of sale.

Good to knowWhat is HR FR PVC?+
HR FR PVC is High heat-Resistant, Flame-Retardant PVC. It withstands higher operating temperatures (up to 105°C) and restricts flame spread with a high oxygen and temperature index, so the wire is self-extinguishing.
How does E-beam technology help?+
Electron Beam processing cross-links the insulation, giving up to 50% more current-carrying capacity, better heat and short-circuit resistance, and a longer service life than ordinary PVC wire.
Is it termite-resistant?+
Yes. Anushakti HR FR PVC includes anti-termite protection for reliable long-term performance in walls and conduits.
Which standard does it meet?+
It conforms to and exceeds IS 694:2010 for PVC-insulated unsheathed cables.
What is the full form of HRFR in wire?+
Heat Resistant Flame Retardant. The insulation is a PVC compound rated for a higher continuous conductor temperature than ordinary FR PVC, and it still resists flame spread. The exact temperature class is printed on the wire and on the datasheet on this page.
HRFR vs FRLS: which is better for home?+
They solve different problems. HRFR handles heat: long-running loads like ACs, geysers and ovens, and conduits in hot rooms. FRLS handles smoke: it gives off less dense, less acidic smoke in a fire. If you need both, the HR-FR-LSH grade (Anushakti HR-FR-LSH) combines them.
Do I need heat resistant wire for an air conditioner?+
An AC circuit runs near its full load for hours, so the conductor stays warm. A correctly sized HR-FR wire gives you margin against insulation ageing on that circuit. Use the wire size calculator on this site to check the size; a 1.5 ton split AC is typically wired in 2.5 sq mm or 4 sq mm copper depending on run length.
