LV & MV aerial bunch cables
Description
OverviewAerial bundled cable, usually shortened to ABC, is an overhead line construction in which several insulated single cores are twisted together into one self-supporting bundle instead of being strung as separate bare conductors. Bundling the cores insulated and close together removes most of the faults that affect bare overhead lines. Conductors cannot clash in wind, falling branches are far less likely to cause an outage, and the line is much harder to tap illegally. The narrower way-leave also makes ABC practical along roads, through vegetation and across congested residential areas where a bare line would need a wide right of way. APAR manufactures aerial bundled cable for low-voltage overhead distribution. Conductor sizes, voltage class and bundle configuration are quoted against the utility's specification — please send us your requirement and we will confirm the construction and issue the datasheet.

Key benefitsCharacteristics
At a glance| Application | Low-voltage overhead power distribution, particularly along roads, through vegetation and across congested residential areas. |
|---|---|
| Construction | Multiple insulated single cores twisted into one self-supporting aerial bundle. |
| Advantages | No phase-to-phase clashing in wind, far fewer faults from falling branches, a narrower right of way, and much greater resistance to illegal tapping than bare overhead conductors. |
| Product range | Quoted against the utility's specification. Contact APAR with the voltage class, conductor sizes and bundle configuration required. |
