Description
OverviewMahashakti Round Multicore is the premium multicore cable in the range, insulated with XLPO, cross linked polyolefin, under a special elastomer sheath. XLPO takes more heat than PVC and it is self extinguishing, so the cable copes with a motor that runs hot and with the knocks a sheath takes in a plant room. Two, three and four core, 0.75 to 16 sq mm.
Use it where a PVC multicore would be working at its limit: air conditioner and refrigeration connections, submersible and industrial motors, pump sets, machinery and control panels. The elastomer sheath stays flexible in the cold and resists abrasion where the cable is dragged or clipped tight. It ships in 100 m coils and 500 or 1000 m drums, and the same construction can be supplied with XLPE or rubber insulation, or with an aluminium conductor, on request.

Standards & approvals
ComplianceBuilt with cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) insulation and a heavy-duty elastomer sheath, and supplied ISI-marked and BIS-certified.
XLPO insulation carries a higher continuous temperature rating than PVC and resists water, oil and abrasion better, which is why this range is specified for heavy-duty and submersible installations. PVC-specific standards such as IS 694:2010 do not describe this construction.

XLPO is cross-linked polyolefin — a high-performance insulation with better heat resistance, dielectric strength and short-circuit resistance than ordinary PVC, giving superior protection against shocks and short circuits.
