Description

Overview

Alumshakti Flat Multicore is the aluminium conductor version of the flat submersible cable, with HR PVC insulation and a flat HR PVC sheath. It is the economical choice for pump and distribution runs where the saving on conductor cost outweighs going up a size. Three core flat, 2.5 to 16 sq mm, on 500 m drums.

The trade-off is the same as with any aluminium cable: lower cost and less weight, in exchange for a larger cross section and terminations that have to be done properly. For a borewell that is pulled up regularly, the copper Shakti Flat or the XLPO Mahashakti Flat handle the mechanical side better. Size the cable from the current rating table on this page.

Standards & approvals

Compliance

Manufactured and tested to IS 694:2010, the Indian Standard for PVC-insulated cables for working voltages up to and including 1100 V — which covers multicore cables with both copper and aluminium conductors. Every drum is ISI-marked and BIS-certified.

Aluminium conductors with heat-resistant PVC insulation and sheath. The flat profile is intended for submersible pump-set installations, where the cable sits flush against the riser pipe.
