Fire Safety & Standards

What certifications make a house wire fire-safe?

Quick answer

For a house wire, fire safety is proven by testing to recognised standards. Look first for the ISI mark against IS 694, then for fire-performance test compliance: flame retardance (IEC 60332 / IS 10810), smoke density (IEC 61034) and halogen acid-gas emission (IEC 60754) for low-smoke, halogen-free grades.

Premium fire-safe wiring such as APAR Anushakti Fire Protekt (EBXL HFFR) combines these with e-beam durability. You can review APAR's certifications and approvals for reference.
