Which cables suit industrial and factory environments?

Quick answer

Factory and industrial environments are demanding — heat, oil, abrasion, vibration and moving machinery — so the cabling has to be robust and correctly specified for each duty.

Typical needs include multicore control cables for machinery and panels, flexible elastomeric (rubber) cables for equipment that moves or runs hot, and appropriately rated power cables sized for the load. Stranded conductors are preferred where cables flex, and fire-safety grade is chosen to suit the area.

APAR's multicore cables — available in round and flat constructions, including aluminium-conductor AlumShakti types — serve many industrial uses, while APAR Industries supplies specialised industrial and flexible cables. Because selection depends heavily on environment and load, have an electrical engineer specify the cable, or contact APAR to discuss requirements.
